1. Install a good antivirus. Free or Paid is good, but don't used cracked or pirated versions. 2. Install real-time anti-spyware protection 3. Update your Anti-virus programs daily. 4. Perform scans on your computer daily. 5. Disable image previews if using Outlook 6. Disable auto-run to prevent infection from pen-drives. 7. Use good anti-virus which has browser plugins and scans all URL's for malicious content. 8. Don't click on any mail links or attachments from unknown sources or malicious users. 9. Never download software from third-party sites. Download from original website. Don't use cracks or keygen which may be a virus/trojan itself.

Microsoft’s past attempts at protecting Windows users from malware have been patchy at best. However, with Windows 10 the company is offering a new way to help protect its customers from dynamic script-based malware and other forms of cyber-attack. AMSI (Anti-malware Scan Interface) is an interface standard that allows applications and services to integrate with any existing anti-malware product on your PC. Those apps can cal l the new Windows AMSI APIs at any time to scan for malware. Microsoft explains, "Malicious software that uses obfuscation and evasion techniques on Windows' built-in scripting hosts will automatically be inspected at a much deeper level than ever before, providing additional levels of protection". Apps can use AMSI to scan files, memory or streams, perform content source URL/IP reputation checks, and employ other techniques to identify malicious behavior. Microsoft envisions communication apps using it to scan instant messages for virus
